The Hyundai HX520L excavator is equipped with a CUMMINS (Cummins) X12 engine that delivers 330 horsepower (246 kW) at 2100 RPM. It features a water-cooled, 6-cylinder design with turbocharging and electronic direct injection control. The X12 engines are an optimal choice for professional transport truck fleets, providing maximum load capability without compromising performance.

The X12 is designed to offer maximum efficiency in high-pressure working environments. Weighing in at least 150 pounds (68 kg) lighter than the lightest competing 11-liter engines, it still delivers powerful performance. An optional new air compressor resonator allows consumers to reduce engine noise both inside and outside the machine. Additionally, it features extended maintenance intervals for oil and filters up to 18 months and a 2.5% improvement in fuel efficiency.
